Co-founder

Meet Costansia (Connie), an accomplished IT Systems Analyst with a profound passion for fostering leadership and growth among girls. As a dedicated mentor in Project Girls 4 Girls Uganda, Connie believes in the transformative power of dreams. In her view, God instills dreams within us with a purpose—a purpose to ignite a fervent desire to change the world and make a difference in someone's life. It is Connie's conviction that everyone, including teenage mothers, deserves the opportunity to pursue and fulfill these dreams and be a catalyst of change to the world. With a heart driven by purpose, Connie strives to be a guiding force, nurturing dreams, and unlocking the potential within every teenage mom, ensuring they step into a future filled with promise and possibility.

Sarah Asiimwe

Sarah Asiimwe

Co-founder

She is an investment analyst, financial inclusion advocate, mentor and Africa Development Educator (ADE) who is passionate about creating opportunities for people to prosper, particularly girls and women facing social and economic vulnerability. She is committed to supporting vulnerable girls, especially teenage mothers, to rebuild their confidence, regain control of their lives and pursue brighter futures. Sarah believes that teenage motherhood or difficult life circumstances should never mark the end of a girl's dreams. With the right mentorship, emotional support, education and practical opportunities, every girl can rise again, reach her full potential and build a meaningful future. Through the Phoenix Girls Initiative, Sarah seeks to create a safe and supportive environment where teenage mothers can heal, learn, acquire practical skills and confidently rebuild their lives. Her vision is for every girl to have a fair opportunity to prosper, contribute meaningfully to her community and become a source of hope and inspiration to others.

Anitah Kusaasira

Anitah Kusaasira

Director

Anitah Kusaasira is a dedicated Ugandan midwife with over a decade of experience in clinical practice, research, and advocacy. As a registered midwife at Mulago Specialized Women and Neonatal Hospital, she has worked tirelessly to improve maternal and child health outcomes. Committed to providing respectful maternity care, Anitah has expertise in both rural and urban settings. She is passionate about midwifery and has a strong track record of advancing maternal and newborn care through her clinical work, research, and leadership. Anitah's dedication to her field is evident in her achievements. She is an alumna of the International Confederation of Midwives' Young Midwife Leadership Program and a finalist in the 2022 Heroes in Health Awards. A passionate advocate, Anitah strives to be a voice for the many in her care and colleagues. Through evidence-based practice, she aims to influence policy and improve maternal and child health outcomes in Uganda

Public Relationships

Francis is professional videographer and photographer who strives to craft visual narratives that resonate with authenticity, emotion, and that leave a lasting impact on the viewers. Through his lens, he aims to amplify voices, tell compelling stories, and inspire positive change. He loves to use his his skills for social good hence joining the Phoenix Girls Initiative to foster girl empowerment in Uganda. His vision is to create visual narratives that transcend boundaries, evoke emotions, and make a difference in the world.

Philip is a passionate advocate for the empowerment of girls and women. His commitment to the Phoenix Girls Initiative is deeply rooted in his own life story and in the strength and sacrifice of the women who shaped his future. Philip's vision is to see girls supported to rise above every circumstance, become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and nation. His work reflects a deep appreciation for the strength of women and a commitment to helping the next generation renew their minds, restore their hope and revive their dreams.
